Unique Options For Her Valentine Gift

By Elba Fenwick

Every year women all across the United States receive random boxes of chocolate and bouquets of red roses. While there is nothing wrong with these gifts, your special someone probably would appreciate something a tad more unique. So this year, consider our suggestions to make it a truly interesting Valentine's Day.

Most people would love a gift of chocolate, but rather than opt for a typical heart-shaped candy box, go all out and get her something amazing, perhaps a gourmet chocolate pizza from Chocolate Pizza Company. This sweet treat comes wrapped in an actual pizza box for a cute presentation, and there are three different varieties of crusts - milk, dark and white chocolate. The milk and dark styles are blended with English-style toffee, while the white chocolate crust is a mix of creamy, rich white chocolate, almonds and dried cranberries.

You also can select another type of treat from Chocolate Pizza Company, such as an assortment of one dozen roses. These roses are, of course, solid chocolate and arranged in tissue paper with a bright red bow for presentation just like an actual flower bouquet. You also can purchase heart-shaped chocolate pizzas or slices of Cupid's Choice, a pizza variety decorated with red candy hearts and candy pearl sprinkles. There are also some wonderful gift baskets and gift packages to consider, such as the popular Be My Valentine box which includes a slice of pizza, a mini chocolate pizza, Peanut Butter Wings and many more treats. The wings are a delicious mix of creamy peanut butter and potato chips which are submerged in melted dark or milk chocolate.

Most women enjoy a break from kitchen duties, so treat her to a homemade dinner for two. Just make sure that clean-up duty is also part of your dinner service. Light candles, put on some soft music and sprinkle rose petals about to make the mood truly festive. Serve up her favorite meal and dessert with some fine wine, champagne or perhaps a fun cocktail. If you think she'd rather go out, schedule a baby sitter, make reservations and whisk her away for an evening of fun.

You also could create a basket of gifts that complement her favorite activities or hobbies. For example, if she loves to read, get her a basket with a biography of her favorite author and perhaps an e-reader or maybe a selection of interesting books in genres she loves. If she loves to cook, consider heading to a kitchen store and buying some cool gear, a great cookbook and maybe something like a bottle of truffle oil or some aged balsamic vinegar. If she's an athlete, get her some great gear or outfits for her favorite sport.

Many times, there is a special something that she really wants but might talk herself out of buying. Maybe it's a bit expensive or seems too indulgent, and this is where you come in. Buy her that designer bag she's always wanted or treat her to a day at the local spa where she can enjoy a massage and a mani-pedi. If you aren't exactly sure what special item she truly wants, call up her sister or ask her closest friend if there is anything that has caught her eye lately.
