Finding Fun Art Classes Near Downtown Denver

By Serena Price

You can find several different types of fun art classes near downtown Denver without having to look very hard. The city has a museum that offers classes during the daylight hours and the cost is included in the price of your admittance ticket. One of the courses is called "Drawing for people who now know they can" and is a follow up for the beginners class previously completed. The museum also offers drop in sessions where you bring your own materials and can get creative input from one of the staff artists.

The courses are not limited to drawing and painting. They offer courses in textiles, and thread studio workshops. There are other things to do here beyond courses. The drop in drawing sessions are popular with many. At these sessions you bring your own supplies and will be directed by an instructor with a different subject each month.

A more liberal type of teaching that has sprung up in Denver are the locations that offer painting lessons in a very casual atmosphere that also supplies cocktails, snacks and an opportunity to socialize while learning. There are several of these shops and each one offers a slightly different venue while remaining basically the same.

Many of the studios that offer paint and sip venues have multiple themes and subjects to choose from. You must make reservations to participate but everything you need will be given to you when you arrive. This will include the canvas to paint, an apron to protect your street clothes and the paints you will need. They encourage you to think outside the box when creating but will also show you step by step how to paint your picture.

It is not recommended that you bring children to these sessions because it is an adult atmosphere. Children under twelve can be especially disruptive in a situation such as the paint and sip parties. Many of them do offer separate courses for children on weekend days that are approximately three hours long. Parents must sign their child up in advance and then can return after the class is finished.

Another part of the paint and sip community has no studio but partners with local businesses instead for time and space to hold their sessions. This is a perfect opportunity to explore some of the cities hot spots while enjoying an evening of good friends and creative aspirations. Most of the meeting places they frequent offer food and drinks for the painters so there is no need to worry about bringing your own.

The painting sessions generally last up to three hours and everything you will need is provided including your first glass of wine or beer. If you would like another drink you can purchase it from your hostess. The subjects and models that are supplied change every week. They offer themed parties for larger groups and make an effort to seat friends and couples together.

The aspect of having fun and entertaining painting courses to attend nearly any day of the week all year long is amazing. Taking your partner on a date at one of the fun art classes near downtown Denver would be a unique and enjoyable experience. You could plan a very unusual birthday party with one of these vendors that everyone, including you, would enjoy immensely
