Buying And Collecting Guns Is Educational And Fun

By Jeff Strickland

Every discussion of guns have many different interpretations about how they should go. Some people will want to talk about collections they know of. Others will want to discuss the souvenirs they took off of the battlefield in the service. Many of them will want to talk about their prowess at the last competition or provide trash talk about the next one.

The politics of gun grabbing will be brought up. Ideas about the modifying of their current guns to escape the controls that are always being set up to evade the Second Amendments rights they have are discussed as well. Following the regulations will also assist hem in buying weapons before they are banned from the public square.

Many people consider what are the best pieces for survival should worse come to worse. They will debate about the need for multiple guns consisting of rifles, pistols and various other supplies needed to fend off marauding groups of people wanting what they have. There will be a lot of these discussions and all of them will end with an agreement that everyone has their own preferences and each bug out kit has what the owner needs in this area.

Those who are or were in the military will talk about one of their favorite subjects. That will be the M161a and the AK 47 that is a civilian model yet is the same gas operated, air cooled rifle that has the power it needs in most situations. These are easy to break down, easy to adjust and just as easy to put back together with your eyes shut.

The 45 caliber pistol they had on their hips probably had a role to play in their comments as well. This is an easy to break down model that has stopping power also. This model and other 45s will serve the purpose in just about any conflict where hand to hand combat is almost all but necessary.

A 22 rifle will be one of the guns just about everyone will want to have around. It has a load and projectile that will injure as well as stop most people. It is also needed for most small game animals for food. Whether a pistol or rifle, this is one caliber that most people agree is a necessity.

In June of 2013, a poll was conducted. The top 88 percent of the vote getting ones were some that many aficionados were not surprised at. The Glock was at the top followed by the Rugers, Springfields, Taurus' and the S and Ws. These popular ones have all of the popular calibers and stand up well to whatever is waiting for you out there.

Rifles such as the Mossbergs will present a definite price change over the more inexpensive ones. The Barrrett 50 BMG is part of this expensive club as well. The collectors who pick these up at many times the price of the less expensive ones will certainly have bragging rights. They do represent a sophisticated look to their owners all things being equal.

There are also the weapons that simply are what they need to be. That need is to make people aware of what they could be in danger of if they are messing with the owner of a shotgun. You can make a little noise when you are ramming a round home in a 45 or when cocking the hammer of a single shot, no matter how much power either one of them has. You are making statement when you are racking a pump action shotgun. They know what that sound is and, if they are trying to do you wrong, they hate it.

Having all of those discussions about what and when and how many will help the newbie get a grip on the world of gun ownership. If they need guns simply for hitting the target or for competition or defending their home, there are a few that can be recommended. Whether they are in the process of buying the best for one particular thing or filling out some list they found, all of these discussions will be educational.

There are many places to get that education and all of it can start with that informal group. Finding a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer will bring into mind all of the rules and regulations. Talking with a few survivalists will also give that student a lesson in the nature of things as they stand in this political world of guns.
