Over Passover these laws are upheld although the production takes on a new dimension whereby any yeast containing foods are left out of the cooking process.

This law is know as Chok and the word is pronounced with its sound emanating from the back of the throat. It is a Hebrew word but more importantly it is a law that is not entirely understood but one that must be obeyed. It is said that the human soul requires soul food so to speak and this is why these laws are not questioned but speculated upon.

Apart from this when animals are slaughtered the blood is drained from the carcass. This is because it is believed that the soul of the animal is contained in its blood. Here again this shows respect to the animal.
